NVG PVS-14
NVG PVS-14

The most multi-functional unit in the night vision world is the PVS 14 NVG. This versatile device is available in two generations: Generation 2+ and Generation 3+, both offering unique benefits depending on the user's needs. The Generation 2+ model is manufactured by Photonis, a European company known for producing high-quality, reliable night vision equipment. Meanwhile, the Generation 3+ model is made by U.S.-based companies Elbit and L3, both also leaders in the industry. The PVS14 was initially adopted by U.S. Special Forces and has proven itself in the most demanding conditions. Now available to civilians, this unit offers the same battle-tested performance that professionals rely on.

The PVS14 is equipped with a standard 1x magnification, ideal for a wide range of activities such as law enforcement, military operations, hunting, and recreational use. One of its standout features is the ability to be head-mounted or helmet-mounted using a variety of helmet types like those from Team Wendy, Ops-Core, Hard Head Veterans, and Tac. This flexibility allows users to operate hands-free, making the PVS14 NVG suitable for any situation requiring mobility and ease of use. Night Vision Guys offers a 5-year warranty on the tube and a 10-year warranty on the housing and workmanship. Most Generation 3 models have a resolution of 64lp/mm, but Night Vision Guys offers enhanced versions with a remarkable 76-81 lp/mm resolution, providing superior clarity and detail even in the darkest environments. The PVS14’s 40-degree field of view ensures a broad range of vision, while its manual gain control allows users to adjust the brightness of the tube based on environmental lighting conditions, offering greater control and comfort during use. Most NVG PVS14 units are powered by either a CR123 battery or a standard AA battery, giving users flexible power options in the field. The housing, typically manufactured by Israeli companies or Carson Optics, is built to last and withstand harsh conditions. The unit comes with a green soft carrying case, demist shield, sacrificial filter for the objective lens, J-Arm adapter for attaching to a goggle kit or helmet mount like the Wilcox G24, lens tissue, neck cord, eye-cup, and front lens cover. In recent years, the prices of PVS14 night vision goggles have dropped significantly, making these once highly exclusive devices more accessible to the civilian market. Prices now range from $1,999 to $4,125.
