The Low Light Innovations MH-1 is the perfect blend of ruggedness and lightweight design. It tips the scales at a mere 15.9 ounces, making it one of the lightest weight housings on the market without sacrificing durability. The MH-1 is also truly modular, with the ability to be split into two separate monoculars using the LLI MBS system when the need arises.
While most BNVD’s (Binocular Night Vision Devices) are built using polymer construction, the MH-14 is built using an ultra-rugged, yet ultra-lightweight Magnesium Alloy and T6 7075 Aluminum housing which exceeds MIL-STD-810G and IP-68 ingress specifications. The MH-1 features a dual articulating design which allows users to operate the unit with either one or both eyes. This is useful when operating a thermal optic or other passive aiming device while maintaining night vision on one side only. This also allows the user to stow the pods comfortably against the helmet for a lower profile while in a vehicle or where head space may be limited. Individual pods are powered off when articulated to eliminate backspash and protect the image intensifier tubes.
The MH-1 is comprised of a simple, minimalist design, but without sacrificing features. Simple rotary knob controls on the front of the unit activate power on / off, IR illumination, and gain control. This unit also features a dual IR illuminator which features a short range, low-power mode as well as a high-power mode for longer range illumination. Interpupillary adjustment with IPD stops allows the user to adjust the spacing between pods for the ideal fit, and a durable aluminum dovetail provides secure attachment to the user’s helmet mount
