At the core of the Challenger GS 2.7x50 is the unique combination of specially designed optics and the CF-Super Image Intensifier Tube which ensure highest edge-to-edge resolution, clear, distortion-free and geometrically precise image across the entire field of view. The body of the device is hermetically sealed which enables use in inclement weather (fog, heavy shower, dusty environment, sand storm etc.). The Challenger GS 2.7x50 is equipped with a powerful infrared illuminator that can be used in insufficient illumination conditions for observation at over-average distances. The device also has a matching site to install auxiliary, more powerful, focusable IR Illuminators Pulsar. The device and the built-in IR illuminator are switched on/off with a single switch. Design of the switch prevents the IR illuminator from accidental activation (to avoid disclosure of the observer). Gen 1 Night Vision
1st generation is currently the most popular type of night vision in the world. Utilizing the basic principles described in detail in our guide, a 1st generation unit will amplify the existing light several thousand times letting you clearly see in the dark. These units provide a bright and sharp image at a low cost, which is perfect, whether you are boating, observing wildlife, or providing security for your home. You may notice the following when you are looking through a 1st Gen. unit. A slight high-pitched whine when the unit is on. The image you see may be slightly blurry around the edges. This is known as Geometric Distortion. When you turn a 1st Gen. unit off it may glow green for some time. These are inherent characteristics of a 1st Gen. unit and are normal.

Hi Danny. Pulsar Challenger GS is a night vision monocular is a handheld device not meant for weapon mounting. If you are looking for a good riflescope to use on AR15, we have several model we can offer. Please confirm that is what you are looking for and we will respond with some links.
