Armasight by FLIR Apollo-Pro LR 640-30 Thermal Clip-on Sight 100mm Lens
Armasight by FLIR Apollo 336-60 Thermal Clip-on Sight
The FLIR Apollo introduces thermal imaging to any standard daytime optic—no rezeroing needed. Fastened in front of a magnified sight via Picatinny quick-release mount, the Apollo brings state-of-the-art thermal technology to an existing set-up in seconds. Detect targets in complete darkness or through atmospheric obscurants without the need to remove daytime optics.
The time is now. Armasight has introduced an amazing new design in their Thermal Imaging Clip on devices, making it easy to take high quality thermal imaging technology with you when you are on the move. While these new Armasight thermal imaging scopes offer the same technological prowess of fully mounted scopes, they are so much simpler, easily mounting in front of your current day time scope. No longer do you have to release your daytime mount and spend valuable time switching it out for a night vision scope of some kind - now you can simply clip on the Armasight thermal imaging scope in front of your existing daytime scope for quick and ready night vision imaging.
If you are not yet sure if thermal imaging technology is for you, ask yourself one question, is it worthwhile to know you will be able to see your target, even in inclement weather conditions? If so, then the answer is easy. You must invest in thermal imaging technology, because in bad weather conditions other night vision technology definitely has the potential to let you down. Thermal imaging promises you an incredible and clear night time view of the field, but not just when the sky is clear. Even in rain and fog and other bad weather conditions, targets still give off heat, which means thermal imaging still works.
Another advantage of thermal imaging over other night vision technology is camouflage. A well selected camouflage outfit can hide a lot from even the well trained eye, but it can’t hide from thermal imaging technology. This is yet another way that a simple thermal imaging clip on scope upgrades your entire tactical arsenal; it is simple and very effective.
The model that you are currently looking at is the Armasight Apollo 336-60 which offers a refresh rate of 60 hz and a pixel array format of 336 x 256.

Thermal Imaging
Please note that most thermal devices are built per order. It may take 3-5 days or more for your order to ship. If timely shipping is important to you, please, contact us to verify availability prior to ordering.
Thermal devices can produce various types of images. Some are color others are monochrome. In either case change in shade or color indicates temperature differences.
Here is how thermal imaging devices work...
A special lens focuses the infrared light emitted by all of the objects in view.
The focused light is scanned by a phased array of infrared-detector elements. The detector elements create a very detailed temperature pattern called a thermogram. It only takes about one-thirtieth of a second for the detector array to obtain the temperature information to make the thermogram. This information is obtained from several thousand points in the field of view of the detector array.
The thermogram created by the detector elements is translated into electric impulses.
The impulses are sent to a signal-processing unit, a circuit board with a dedicated chip that translates the information from the elements into data for the display.
The signal-processing unit sends the information to the display, where it appears as various colors depending on the intensity of the infrared emission. The combination of all the impulses from all of the elements creates the image.
There are a few key Manufacturers when it comes to thermal imaging.
ATN: produce such well knows devies as ThOR-HD thermal scope, BINOX-THD thermal binoculars, and OTS-HD thermal monocular.
FLIR/Armasight: the largest maker of consumer level thermal products is well knows for their full product line. Zeus thermal scopes, Q14 and Scout monoculars, Helios and Scout binoculars and many more.
Pulsar: a very popular brand for digital night vision and thermal imaging. Key products include Pulsar Trail and Apex thermal scopes and Pulsar Helion and Quantum thermal monoculars.
Seek: mobile device mounted thermal cameras are the main products of this brand.
Delivery Time and Manufacturing Process for Armasight by FLIR Apollo 336-60 Thermal Clip-on Sight:
Most of our manufacturers do not keep products like Armasight by FLIR Apollo 336-60 Thermal Clip-on Sight assembled on the shelf. Night Vision tubes are kept separate from the body of the unit. When the order is placed, the manufacturer starts the order processing and assembly process which includes the following:
- Order processing - we collect all the necessary information including address and phone numbers. We also make sure that our customer ordered the correct product for their needs and that the product can be exported by US law to the country of destination. In some cases a signed export compliance form is required.
- QC - in this step the manufacturer will inspect all individual parts which will be used to assemble the night vision device for any defects.
- Production & Assembly - during production, all the parts are put together. Night Vision tubes in inserted into the body of the unit and all the complex electronics for the device are connected. This process takes place in a special lab called the "clean room" as even a small speckle of dust can cause undesired optical effect.
- QA - one the night vision device is assembled, it goes through a rigorous testing process to make sure it meets all the expected specifications and all parts function as expected. For this most manufacturers have a special "dark room" designed to allow testing of the units without causing incidental damage to the night vision tube by exposure to bright light.
- Packaging - this is a key process as well. In most case your night vision device will be shipped to you directly from the manufacturer but sometimes needs to be sent to us first. In either case items need to be packaged securely to avoid any kind of damage during transportation.
- Shipping - as described above items will most of the time ship from the manufacturer. For most domestic orders (unless shipping to POB or AFB) a premium shipper like FedEx or UPS will be used.
Only by following the above steps can we along with our manufacturers bring you - our customer - night vision products of highest quality, However as you can understand the above process can take several days to complete. For example if your device fails QA, the entire process restarts. Also at QC stage a manufacturer may realize that the tube they have in stock has a defect and a replacement tube needs to be ordered. Due to the complexity of this process, it is prudent to expect 3-4 business days for production and handling of the purchased device. Keep in mind that this process is designed to guarantee your satisfaction with the night vision device of your choice. It occasionally possible to expedite the process for urgent orders but addional fees or other restrictions may apply.

Great Job
I would like to pass along my appreciation to Steven Budovluya. I hunt feral hogs in Texas with an AR10 308 and I was on the fence of buying a night vision or thermal unit. I was in contact with OpticsPlanet and other Scope Retailers. None were as helpful and easy to communicate with as Steven. After several conservations over a 3 week period, he had me convinced TNV was what I really needed for hunting in the day and night in heavy woods. Hog like to lay under cedars and they are easy to walk right up on, and dangerous. I am new to night optics and especailly thermal night vision and I don’t have deep pocket. Steven was very helpful in selecting the right unit for my budget. On top of this I only have 3.75” of rail in front of my Buckmaster scope so the rail is too short for a clip on unit. I was close and Steven suggested I could buy it and return it if it didn’t fit. I was close to renting the Apollo and forego the expense of renting it. The more we talked, he understood my problem with the gas valve and suggested the Rail riser / extender. I was about to give up until he resolved my issue! I am extremely thankful for him working with me and staying in contact with me. Now I’m a proud owner of a Apollo Thermal Night Vision unit (when it arrives that is, it’s due to arrive Wednesday) I can hardly wait for our hunt in January! Please pass along my appreciation to Steven, he knows his equipment and was very easy to communicate with and understand my problem. I am sure the guys I hunt with will be contacting Steven after this trip! :-D Best Regards to NVG’s and Steven

Happy hunter.
I don't know why I haven't picked one of these up sooner but what a wake-up for my ACOG 4x32 RCO M4CP and Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x32mm scopes. Great solution for different short to medium range targets or scenarios switching from AR-15 5.56x45mm (acog mounted) to AR-10 Sig 716 w/nightforce. I will be a returning customer. Thank you Steven B.!

Question
is this a stand alone unit or does it need to be used in conjunction with a scope
From rob on Apr 22, 2015
Answer
Hi Rob. Armasight Apollo like most other clipon devices can be used as a stand alone monocular. However, it does not have its own reticle so it does need to be used in conjunction with a dayscope to be used as a weapon sight. Please let us know what you are trying to achieve and we can suggest a product that would address your needs.
Question
I am eventually going to buy a "night vision" device for hunting hogs. I've been researching different options and it appears to me that thermal is the best way to go. I am interested in the Armasight 324-60 as a clip on device for my Leupold scope. What does it cost to rent this device and try it before I purchase? Also, what do recommend as the most cost effective device for hunting hogs at night at about 100 to 200 yards max. Thanks, Mike
From Mike on Sep 04, 2015
Answer
Hi Mike. Thank you for your question. Currently thermals are by far the most popular option when it comes to night time hog hunting. There are many devices which will do just fine at the 100-200 yard range. The main question you need to answer is how much is the convenience of not removing your day scope is worth to you. There are dedicated thermal riflescopes like Armasight Predator for example which will do very well and cost you less than the Apollo. However, using a dedicated scope means that you either need a second rifle or will need to keep switching scopes and rezeroing them. So with Apollo you pay for the amazing convenience of simply snapping it on and off. As per the cost of rental, it all depends on the rental period. Please let us know what you have in mind and we will provide a quote.
Question
What is the maximum useful range for the Armasight Apollo 324?
From Ken on Nov 07, 2016
Answer
Hello Ken. Armasight Apollo 324 is a thermal clipon and as such relies on your dayscope for the magnification capabilities. In general the unit is capable of locating a large animal in an open field several hundreds of yards away. If you give us some details on your daytime optics and the type of game you hunt, we can provide more accurate estimates.
Question
How far off center can the Armasight Apollo 324-60 Thermal Clip-on Sight be from your scope and still work good?
From Bill on Feb 11, 2017
Answer
Hi Bill. Typically 2-3mm is the most you want to have to ensure correct operation.
Question
How much recoil can the Apollo unit with stand? I'm just curious what calibers the unit can be used on with out damaging the device.
From Hunter on Mar 11, 2017
Answer
Hi Hunter, the regular Apollo thermal clipon is good for .308. Pro versions can go on a .5.
