Armasight Spark Multi-purpose night vision monocular CORE Technology Ceramic
From Aramsight about Vega Night Vision Goggle:
If low-cost, high quality head-mounted night vision is what you need, the Armasight Vega is the best choice. The Generation 1 Armasight Vega comes complete with a head mount (which allows the unit to be positioned over either eye) and it is the perfect in-expensive hands-free option for air soft games, paintball, hunting or security – for these activities at night, the Armasight Vega will give you the edge. A built-in short range IR illuminator allows the Vega to work well even in complete darkness, and an optional Armasight long range infra-red illuminator will dramatically boost viewing range if required. The Armasight Vega features all-glass optics, a single push-button control and rugged reinforced composite housing.
From Night Vision Guys:
Armasight Vega, is a basic Gen 1 mono-goggle with some good features normally not found in this price range. This Armasight night vision goggle can be worn over either eye, flipped up out of the line of sight if need be, and accepts a long range IR illuminator which allows you to extend the usable range if necessary. Overall this is a great starter night vision goggle that is very compact and versatile. If you are looking for a more powerful night vision device with similar features, take a look at Armasight Spark-G.

Gen 1 Night Vision
1st generation is currently the most popular type of night vision in the world. Utilizing the basic principles described in detail in our guide, a 1st generation unit will amplify the existing light several thousand times letting you clearly see in the dark. These units provide a bright and sharp image at a low cost, which is perfect, whether you are boating, observing wildlife, or providing security for your home. You may notice the following when you are looking through a 1st Gen. unit. A slight high-pitched whine when the unit is on. The image you see may be slightly blurry around the edges. This is known as Geometric Distortion. When you turn a 1st Gen. unit off it may glow green for some time. These are inherent characteristics of a 1st Gen. unit and are normal.

people hard to see, limited focus
I thought I was getting binoculars instead of the monocular but this product limited my view and focus to around 25 ft. and the view seemed pin pointed to very center with blurr along the outer edge of scope view. couldn't really destinguish where the person was hiding.

Decent performance for the money.
While this isn't a Gen 3 device, it is useful as long as there is some ambient light available. I haven't had a moonlit night to test on, but have tested it on a very dark and moonless night. A street light located about 100 yards away creates enough light that I can see out to about 50-60 yards without using the IR light. It is necessary to use the IR light it to see into the shadows that are created by the street light. I am looking forward to seeing how it will do in moonlight. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. The build quality is good for the monocular as well as the included head mount.

Question
Will these fit on a rhino mount?
From Peyton on Jan 26, 2015
Answer
Hi Peyton. Vega is not designed for a rhino, you could probably find some adapters but it will cost you more than the unit. You are better off looking at the Spark. Armasight Spark will work with transfer adapter #37 and a Rhino arm plus you must have a shroud on the helmet.
Question
Actually, It is not 40' FOV It is 35' FOV.. this is Armasite website error. in catalog, It is 35' FOV I contated Armasite which one is correct, 35' is right

Answer
Thank you for pointing this out about Vega nv goggle. We have fixed this as well.
Question
Wondering if you can adjust the angle to the left so that you can look through an IR compatible rifle scope with it.
From SPFLD on Aug 25, 2015
Answer
hi Fred. This is a Gen 1 night vision device. It would not perform well with a dayscope. You typically need a gen 2 or 3 device to see well.
Question
Can you view through NV compatible red dot 1X magnification scopes with these?
From Ngoc Su Cow on Nov 07, 2015
Answer
Hi. Gen 1 night vision technology is generally not good enough to pair it with a red dot sight. You would need at least a mid to high level Gen 2 night vision goggle for that purpose.
Question
will this compare closely to your spark core? use for recreational shooting/home defense
From jeff on May 29, 2016
Answer
Hi Jeff. No Gen 1 device compares to Armasight Spark in terms of performance. CORE produces near gen 3 resolution without the distortions common in regular Gen 1 devices. Vega is a good device compared to standard Gen 1 models from other brands.
Question
Do you have a rail gun mount for armasight vega night vision goggle gen 1+?
From Steve on Feb 27, 2017
Answer
Hi Steve. We do not have a such a mount because the unit is not designed to be mounted on a weapon. I am sure you can find some adapter to achieve this, but I want to warn you to not expect the goggle to tolerate any kind of recoil.
Question
Can this scope be mounted on pic related. http://lghttp.42294.nexcesscdn.net/8016B67/nvg/media/catalog/product/cache/1/thumbnail/1000x1000/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/a/r/armasight-spark-09-04-b.jpg I am looking into getting a PASGT helmet and i am looking for a night optic that would fit. The Spark optic in pic related is twice my price range though.
From jeff on Jan 16, 2018
Answer
Hi Jeff Armasight Vega comes with its own headgear. It is not compatible with a PASGT mount.
