Armasight SPARK-X Night Vision Goggles with CORE technology
From Armasight about Ninon Night Vision Goggle:
If low-cost, high quality head-mounted night vision is what you need, the Armasight Ninox night vision goggles is the best choice.
The Generation 1 Ninox NVG comes complete with a head mount which allows the unit to be positioned over either eye and it is the perfect in-expensive hands-free option for air soft games, paintball, hunting or security – for these activities at night, the Armasight Ninox night vision goggle / binocular will give you the edge. The built-in short range IR illuminator allows the Armasight Ninox to work well even in complete darkness, and an optional Armasight long range infra-red illuminator will dramatically boost viewing range if required. The Armasight Ninox night vision binocular/goggle set features all-glass optics, a push-button control and rugged reinforced composite housing.
Due to it's dual tube design, this unit can also be used as a night vision binocular.
From Night Vision Guys:
Just like it's mono version the Vega, Armasight Ninox is a basic Gen 1 goggle with lots of cool features provided at low cost. Headset is well designed and has a swing up feature. Goggles are light and can be used as a handheld binocular. You can attach an optional long range IR illuminator to extend visible range even more. If you are in the market for something a bit more powerful, take a look at the Armasight Spark-X which offers many of the same functional features but sports a more powerful CORE based night vision tube.

Gen 1 Night Vision
1st generation is currently the most popular type of night vision in the world. Utilizing the basic principles described in detail in our guide, a 1st generation unit will amplify the existing light several thousand times letting you clearly see in the dark. These units provide a bright and sharp image at a low cost, which is perfect, whether you are boating, observing wildlife, or providing security for your home. You may notice the following when you are looking through a 1st Gen. unit. A slight high-pitched whine when the unit is on. The image you see may be slightly blurry around the edges. This is known as Geometric Distortion. When you turn a 1st Gen. unit off it may glow green for some time. These are inherent characteristics of a 1st Gen. unit and are normal.

Great set of goggles
Purchased these goggles to help locate game on some night hunts and work great. They are a little on the heavy side but after a while you get use to it. Like having the dual tube rather than the single to help with depth perception. Am planning on ordering another set from nvg after the holidays.

Armasight Ninox Gen 1+ Night Vision Goggles with Headgear
The product is VERY heavy and unpractical to use. Vision quality is as much as a medium type of GEN-1 quality. It is basically good for recreation purpose ONLY.

Question
Effect of bright light?
From Henk Maritz on May 08, 2014
Answer
Hello, bright light will with time burn the tube intensifier. Generation 3 has what's called an automatic shut off, however, even then if the unit is exposed to bright light often enough it will still damage the performance as well as the technology. To replace the tube intensifier that's roughly 80% of the cost therefore you have to be careful when exposing the unit to bright lights or lights in general.
