The Trophy XLT 4-12x40 from Bushnell is a cost effective riflescope with Amber-Brite multicoated optics for a crisp sight-picture, a 1.0" tube that's filled with dry nitrogen for water and fogproof performance, an adjustable objective, and Bushnell's Multi-X reticle.
A mounting base and rings are used to attach a riflescope to a firearm. A comfortable sight picture is contingent upon the height of the rings. A comfortable cheek-weld is the result of properly positioning the scope over the receiver. Mounting the scope close to the receiver is preferable, yet scopes with larger objectives need higher rings so the front bell can clear the barrel. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation.

Question
Will this scope put up with the abuse from a Savage Arms 24" 300 win mag? I will not be shooting it much nor will I be shooting over 300 to 600 yards. Money is an issue and this looks like a good match for now. I see it does not come with the scope mounts. Do you have the mounts for this scope to my gun and how much are they? Thank you, Brian

Answer
hi Brian. Bushnell Trophy XLT hunting scopes do fine on 300 win as long as you are mindful of the scope. Some people have reported getting cut by the scope from the kick the first time they shoot. Just be careful and mindful and it will be fine. We can offer mounts for any scope, just let us know what height and we can offer a few options.
