MUM 14 A Gen 3 Level 3 Green Non-Autogated Passive Night Vision Monocular Device
The MUM-14A is a high performance modular, hand-held passive night vision monocular device that utilizes a single Generation II/III intensifier tube to provide crisp, clear images under the darkest conditions. The MUM-14A “single tube / single eyepiece” approach to night vision missions is based upon the proven concept that independent use of each eye maximizes the ability to operate under a wide range of low light conditions maintaining optimal situational awareness and flexibility of equipment applications.
Small, lightweight and versatile, the MUM-14A gives you a high performance 2nd or 3rd generation system in the smallest package available. With its unique electronic switch performance, the MUM-14A does not require an adapter to convert from AA to CR123A batteries. The MUM-14A has the ability to be weapon mounted, head/helmet mounted, handheld and can be optionally attached to cameras and extender 3x/5x afocal objective lenses. Also available a dual-system head/helmet mount that allows two MUM-14A’s to become one binocular system. The on-axis rail system permits the MUM-14A to use a wide range of mounting options.

It works well!
However, it came with a AA battery that probably didn't provide enough power due to the fact these monoculars are usually provided with a Gen 2 tube, so what I concluded is the AA battery included just didn't have enough juice to run the Gen 3 tube. Besides, the issue with the included AA battery, it works fine with the CR123 battery. It's a bit blurry but that's probably due to my awful left eye's visual acuity.

What a steal
I was a little off put by the blem pics at first but decided to pull the tigger anyways seeing how getting two of these tubes was still cheaper than buying a new single photonis echo tube. ALL I have to say is wow, I could not be happier with my purchase. I got in touch with the guys in the sale dept and asked them to match the tubes the best they could for a bino set up and they were more than happy to. Shipped super fast and the product is fantastic. The MUM housing has a little bit of a learning curve to it and the direct mounts are pretty scarce and limited but you can find adapters to make it work. But all and all I’m stoked and a customer for life now. If you’re debating on it, just do it. You can’t beat it for the price when you’re getting gen 3 tubes.
