UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
Ok received my new scope THANKS TO STEVE at NV GUYS he is awesome needed the replacement scope by Friday he made it happen.. This is SUPER customer support.. Called and left a message Saturday and got a call back on SATURDAY.. I was impressed explained my problem and that I need it for a night hunt on Saturday 1 week I had my new scope all under warranty .. mounted it and off to the range.. Turned the scope on and my first thought was WOW this is SUPER clear.. My other was NEVER this clear.. after a good sight in 10 rounds of hunting ammo had some spare range ammo 40 rounds all rounds were in about 1.5 inch group HUMMMM not bad for cheap rang ammo switch back to hunting ammo new target 5 shot group 3/4 inch out of my 300 blackout Ruger American bolt gun... Now I was impressed.. BUT the best was yet to come.. got out in the stand at 11 pm turned on the scope NO IR CRYSTAL CLEAR no problem seeing out to 100 yards turned on ir to first setting could see well out to 150 yards with no problem identifying a target I.E. HOG.. Got to thinking when I shot that 250 lbs hog at 125 yards the other scope was no where near this clear.. Making me wonder if the other scope did not have a problem to start with.. Kind of makes me upset that I posted a bad review of this scope out of RAGE.. But if I had to buy this scope again or any other night vision scope Steve with NV GUYS is going to be the FIRST person I call although his company does not handle the warranty it is through the manufacture HE made it right... This is truely SUPer customer support AAAAAAAA+++++++++++++ rating in my book..

Take my advice, DO NOT rush your night vision purchase I ordered this night vision scope with expedited 2 day shipping giving myself 2 days to mount and sight this scope in. NightVisionGuys did deliver the product in 2 days at requested but the product that was delivered was defective. The end result is that I did not have a scope for my hog hunt as I intended. Note to self........ Next time I order from anyone, give yourself a week or 2 before your hunting trip in case a defective product is sent to you.

UPDATE
Ok after a trip to the range sight in 10 rounds fired working great 1st night hunt 250 lbs hog 127 yards working great 1 shot fired night hunt 2 get in the stand test scope check battery status full and working great turned it off and about 10 minutes later hogs coming to feeder turn it on WHITE FLICKERING SCREEN.. Turn it off and back on SAME THING scope just bit the dust replaced batteries same thing.. ok only three weeks old.. I understand they are electronic devices.. So here I wait tried calling several time sat on hole for over 2hours.. NO ONE ANSWERS waiting on return email. AS OF RIGHT NOW this scope dropped from 5 star to 0 STARS

GREAT PRODUCT
OK this scope is great sight in was super easy holds sight in even after several rounds of fire.. I use this on a 300 blackout bolt action.. compared to the standard night vision in gen 1 and 2 I have used there is no comparison this is super clear and with the built in IR a 150 yard shot is not difficult.. no problems Identifying your target.. first night out took a 250 lbs hog 1 shot right behind the ear. 125 yards.. ONE thing to remember take a good supply of batteries as a set last about 1.5 hours.. But AA batteries are cheap.. I have no problems recommending this scope it is SUPER NICE..

Awesome NV Sight
I did a lot of research online before I purchased this sight and I am glad that I did. The photon xt is an awesome night vision scope for the money. I mainly purchased the sight to go my AR-10 rifle to hunt pigs at night. Last night I got to try it out for the first time and it worked great. It was a clear night with a 1/4 moon and with the built in IR I had no problems identifying pigs and shooting one at 125 yards. I did buy a UNV 20 external IR and with both on at the same time it is no problem to make out targets at 200 plus yards. If your main use is 100 yards or less the built in IR will work just fine. The scope is easy to use and sight in. So far with about 30 rounds fired the scope has held zero. I would definitely recommend this scope and it is a great deal for the $500 range. Also, I cant say enough about the cusotmer service and support I received from Stephen B. He was very quick to respond to my emails and answered all of my questions.

Couldn't believe it.
First let me say. I have been on the band wagon along with everyone else waiting on the other brands vaporware. I decided to change my order and give Sightmark Photon a try. I don't think I will go back to the vaporware anytime soon. The Photon XT 4.6 X 42S is great. I can see in such detail out at 200 yards it's not even funny. The build in IR is very powerful, my opinion you should use the one that is on it before you decide to drop anymore $ on an external. I was able to see a large buck out at 150 yards and count his horns. Nokidding. If you are tired of waiting on the vaporware get this scope you will not be sorry you did. The scope mounts easy in most cases MED rings, which will put the scope where your normal scope would sit. No more holding your head up high looking like a chicken to see the target. This is a big plus in my book. Natural shooting position makes it the best. Get it you'll be happy you did.

Hi Christopher. Sightmark Photon line of night vision scopes does not use a night vision tube instead it uses a digital sensor. This makes these scopes digital night vision scope which do not follow the night vision Generation scale. However, in terms of their capabilities, these scopes fall in between the standard Gen 1 night vision scopes and lower end Gen 2 scopes giving you an effective range of 100-180 yards when equipped with a supplemental IR light. Hi Joey. There are only 2 ways to record from this. One is by putting a camera to the viewfinder. Two by using the video output which is via an RCA video connector. So when it comes to a phone, there are some 3rd party mounts which will allow you to attach your phone to the viewfinder. in terms of the RCA cable output, I have never seen a converter which would allow you to accept video signal on your phone and record it. If you find one, please let us know.

Hi. I am involved in a wine yard protection against wild boars. This includes spring and summer night shooting. Most shots are taken in the 100 yd range so I guess the scope's built in IR will be ok. Do you confirm ? BUT for safety reason, it is needed to check for trespassing night pedestrians in the 100-200 yd range, before I take the shot. What additional IR illuminator power do I need to detect a walking / moving human up to 200 yd (and wearing no reflective gear of course) ?
