Photon RT 4.5-9x42S Digital Night Vision Riflescope
The Armasight Vampire Night Vision Rifles Scopes are built based on the latest Ceramic Optical Ruggedized Engine technology. This CORE IIT was used in the Armasight Spark monocular which was released in 2012 and became a huge success.
Due to this CORE technology, this Gen 1 rifle scope provides double resolution of a standard Gen 1 scopes. In addition to the increased resolution, the Armasight Vampire 3X IIT CORE night vision rifle scope attachment has a flatter and clearer night vision image. With photocathode sensitivity levels of upwards of 400μm/lm CORE devices approach Gen 2 quality at Gen 1 prices.
The body of the Vampire night vision rifle scope attachment is made from solid aluminum; the O-ring is sealed and rubber coated for further protection.
The Vampire NVRS is nitrogen-treated, has multicoated all-glass lenses and a manually-adjustable fine reticle that makes precise shot placement incredibly easy. This Armasight night vision riflescope is also water, dust, and sand-proof for increased reliability. Gen 1 Core Technology Night Vision
CORE™ Image Intensifier Tube
Thanks to the latest advancements in electro optical manufacturing Armasight redefines affordable high
performance night vision with CORE™ (Ceramic Optical Ruggedized Engine) Image Intensifier
CORE™ VS. Gen 1
Unlike Gen 1 Image intensifier tubes that are fragile by a virtue of being made from glass, CORE™ IITs
are made just like Gen 2 and Gen 3 by fusing metal alloys with ceramic compounds. CORE™ technology
is based on durable elements and allows tight component stacking, resulting in image tubes that are
exceptionally shockproof and vibration resistant. This makes CORE™ IITs ideal for weapon sight
application. Robust packaging envelop lacks easy-to-break protrusions common in Gen 1 tubes and
allows for streamline design of lighter, compact and more reliable night vision devices.
CORE™ platform offers best in class resolution with over 70 lp/mm, increased photocathode sensitivity
level in upwards of 400µm/lm and infinite (!) Signal to Noise (SN) providing image quality in prevalent
ambient light condition rivaling high end Gen 2 image tubes.

Good scope
I bought this scope with the hopes of getting a usable nightvision scope for predator hunting for a good price and mounted it on a 243. First let me say it is really high on a rem 700 but is perfectly at home on an AR platform rifle. I used it in a coyote tournament and was able to make kills at over 100 yds easily. I engaged a coyote at 250 and missed but it’s a 3x fixed power and it’s hard to judge range at night. Perfect for 150 and under. The clarity is outstanding, the illuminator works great, no lag like some digital scopes. It straight up outperformed an x sight 4K with a sniper hog light illuminator. The SHL illuminator is brighter than the armasight 850xlr but the vampire picked up better even with a superior IR on the x sight. I could discern the difference between a coyote and a deer at 300. I could tell a red fox from a grey fox at 100. I did shoot a grey fox thinking it was a coyote but they are similar in color. I would say it’s as good as any PVS 14 I’ve used albeit you must use IR. I’m a tank commander in the army national guard with 8 yrs experience and scanning a field with the vampire out to 300 was just as defined as scanning with my tank. I was blown away. So was everyone else that used it. I would say the only drawback is it’s fixed power and IR dependence. But still, amazing out to 150 yd engagement line and 300 ID range.

100% satisfied
I have always been hesitant on spending money online without being able to handle or try out the product before buying it. I did my homework and read all the reviews and watched all the videos. My Armasight Vampire is an exceptional value. I use night vision in my employment and this was money well spent. The NVG operator I dealt with was professional and a big help. I bought this sight for coyote hunting. Absolutely satisfied with my purchase.

I was very impressed
Finally have used the Vampire enough to give a review, I was so hoping it would not be a too good to be true product, It was not, it was better than I could of hoped for. No regrets for buying from NVG.

Very Impressive NV rifle scope
Steve and other Night Vision Guys were extremely helpful and you are not going to find a better price. Ordering was simple and secure (no problems at all) and shipping was superfast (my order shipped the same day). The Vampire with CORE technology is very impressive and the IR illuminator makes it even better (note: there is a red glow that can be seen, which is normal for illuminators in this WV range). This is so much better than the old Gen 1 "starlight" scopes I used in the Army. I mounted it on my Ruger mini-14 but have not shot it yet. It adds quite a bit of weight (the scope if 3 lbs) but the quick release is ideal. I really like this scope...very Impressive

If you are looking for your first night scope this is the to get. After doing some research, it was a no brainer what one to get for the price. Scope is very nice with thinner cross hairs and easy on of removal when not needed if using your gun during the daytime. Night vision guys, best price, best guys. Thanks. buy one and be done.

Best GEN1 NV I've seen
I purchased my Armasight Vampire to use for predator and hog hunting. I called and spoke with Steven B. before ordering and he was extremely helpful. He was very knowledgeable of the scope. The sight itself is awesome for the money. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good NV scope for a great price. The scope is crisp and clear and easy to operate. It is well built and extremely rugged. I mounted the scope on my AR15 and shot it at 25 yards. I had it zeroed in 4 shots. After I sighted it in, I walked out to the edge of the field and could see all the way across the field(234 yards) with ease. I personally wouldn't try to shoot it that far but you can definitely see that far and clearly. This scope should not even be in the GEN1 class. It is more like a "middle of the road" GEN2. On top of all this, the customer service at NVG is fist class. I got my scope in 3 days and it was packaged well to protect it. I highly recommend and will definitely be buying from NVG again.

Excellent Product for the money.
I have to start by saying that this is my first NV product. I researched a lot before purchasing and with the budget I had. I kept coming back to this product. Well I received and tried it out, since I had no other NV device to compare to I thought this is a pretty good product. Well Xmas came around and my wife bought me a pair of Gen 1 NV binoculars (not Armasight). Not sure if I should mention the product, but they have very good reviews online for Gen 1 binos. Well I was blown away by the comparison! The binos were in my opinion not even close in clarity and depth of field of the targets down range. So with a heavy heart I had my wife send them back. For what I need it, it is well worth the money. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting a start up product or replacing an exciting older Gen 1 product. It took me no time at all to zero the scope on my AR platform and have removed it from the rifle for storage and so far it has retained its zero. Oh before I forget the ir illuminator that comes with it does a very good job in illuminating objects further then I thought it would. Over all very happy with my purchase.

Buy it, you won't be disappointed
First off, well done to Night Vision Guys and especially the customer service provided by Steven B. Simply awesome. This is my first experience with night vision, so my frame of reference is very limited. I was looking at a less expensive model, but after a lengthy conversation with Steven I decided to go with the Vampire 3X and I'm glad I did. Purchased it to hunt hogs at night. I have not had the opportunity to do so yet but I have taken it out a few nights to familiarize myself with operation of controls and the device itself. Unit seems to be built with durability in mind. Power switch locks in place so it can't be bumped out of position. Diopter adjustment is smooth. My one criticism is that the focus, windage, and elevation turrets are not very smooth and the clicks are not as defined as on a regular rifle scope. That said, they seem to work fine and I appreciate the lanyards on the turret covers. Image through the scope far exceeds my expectations. Haven't had the opportunity to view critters at night, but landscape detail is amazing well past 100 yards. IR illuminator is likewise a solid unit that really lights up the night. My hunting buddy seems to be intent on cheaping out with a different unit so I'm looking forward to a side by side comparison. I will update my review then.

Outstanding
This may take some time to read but I want to be as accurate as possible without being technical. I tested this unit first on a cloudless night with a full moon....WOW! The sight picture was clear enough beyond 300 yds to identify and take a Red Fox. The range on my range finder in the morning said 345 yds, The IR illuminator worked beyond 200 yds, I tested next on an overcast night and was still amazed at the clarity well beyond 200 yds. (Again, range finder in the morning). Clear picture to about 220 yds, could easily take a Fox. IR illuminator functioned same as previous test. I have had two previous Gen 1 night visions of different brands and this performed more like a Gen 2. I can't praise this outfit enough. In a word, Outstanding performance. 5 stars for sure. If that isn't enough, the personal service and fast delivery was incredible. Highly recommend this setup.

Armasight Vampir
Over the past year, the demand for the Armasight Spark monocular, which utilizes their proprietary CORE technology, has been huge enough that they decided to expand the CORE line to include a dual tube goggle (Spark X), dual tube binoculars (Spark B), an improved Spark monocular, a clip-on, and an impressive dedicated 4x weapon sight, the Vampir. The Vampir impressed be enough that I asked to buy one. The Spark I purchased early on was impressive enough, but this goes above and beyond, largely due to the excellent quality of the optics, and the generous 90mm objective lens. The light gathering ability is impressive, but the clarity, resolution, and very minimal edge distortion are what really surprised me as it is technically a Gen1 device, though looking through it one could easily mistake it for a Gen2 device. The entire field of view is clear and crisp, save for a very tiny portion of the image's perimeter. Please understand that I am not touting this as an equal to Gen3, or even Gen2+, as it is not. However, with my experience with night vision weapon's sights, I do feel you would have to spend over $1,500 to better the Vampir with a new production device. When compared with a Pulsar N550 and the same illuminator, the Vampir won out, especially at identifying targets past 200 yards. As with all lower generation night vision, an illuminator is necessary to provide maximum performance when natural illumination is minimal, such as overcast nights, or nights with very little moon. A couple nights I drove around the vast network of dirt roads in my AO with the Vampire to see how far I could identify deer and other game animals. To avoid the pleasure of spending the night in jail and coughing up cash for large fines, I used the sans rifle. Due to the terrain here in my area of the Ozarks, the largest field I found occupied by deer was about 220 yards across, with two deer on the far side. The moon was not full but was providing sufficient illumination that active illumination was not necessary. I could easily tell that both were antlerless, one was standing, and the other was lying down. I have yet to find a traditional Gen 1 scope with which that would have been possible. My home range maxes out at 350 yards, But I was still able to engage the 12” steel plates at that distance using either the IR810W or the Streamlight SuperTac IR for illumination. Not having the chance to stretch it out any further, I can't say for a fact that you could engage targets at a longer distance with the Vampir, but I do think it would be completely feasable. The 4x Vampir constructed of aircraft grade aluminum, and seems to be built like a tank, weighing in at 3.2 lbs. Its 10.5” length is shorter than many other dedicated night vision scopes. The controls are simple, and well laid out. It boasts 40 hours of continuous run time on a single 3V CR123 battery. The power knob is on the right hand side of the device and has eight (8) positions, including the “OFF” position. Turning the knob clockwise one click turns the night vision on, and each subsequent click brightens the red lit reticle. A short section of picatinny rail for an illuminator is mounted on the housing in the event that the user's weapon of choice is void of accessory rails. On the top of the housing is a focus knob that allows the operator to focus the device at any distance from 4 meters to infinity. Diopter adjustment ranges from -5 to +5. The Vampir utilize a quick detach mount with two adjustable cam levers, which provides a solid lockup. Furthermore, adjusting the tension requires no tools. Actually, nothing on the Vampir requires a tool, making it that much more effective in the field. Each time I switched between the Vampir and my day scope on my AR, the sight held its original zero. This in itself makes me happy as QD mounts that don't hold zero kind of defeat the purpose of even having QD capabilities. Hands down, my favorite feature of the Vampir's construction is the windage and elevation turrets. As opposed to the abomination many night vision scopes use as turrets, the Vampir boasts finger adjustable knobs that are much like those found on long range scopes. Very few things are more frustrating than trying to manipulate poorly designed windage and elevation turrets. That is simply not an issue here. Over top of the turrets are knurled aluminum turret caps that are linked together via a steel cable, that also attaches them to the body of the scope to prevent loss in the field. I would be shocked if someone could point me towards a night vision sight that has anywhere near the features or performance of the Vampir for $750. I really don't think we will see any viable competitors for some time, as the CORE technology is proprietary to Armasight, and Gen2 and digital devices are almost double in price. The Vampir offers an incredible night sighting capabilities for a great price.
