Sightmark Night Raider 3x60L IR NV Riflescope
The Pulsar Sentinel GS 2.5x60 night vision riflescope features a red and green reticle option with variable brightness adjustment. A built-in IR illuminator with a focusable beam allows the Sentinel to achieve maximum brightness when varmint hunting or conducting surveillance. Its lightweight, titanium alloy body makes the unit extremely durable. Titanium alloy is strong, lightweight and has improved resistance to corrosion and is stronger than most aluminum-based scopes. The most notable feature on the Pulsar Sentinel is the CF-Super tube, which gives edge-to-edge clarity compared to Gen 1. This is achieved by a spherical shaped photocathode on the image intensifier tube, which improves resolution by 20%. This tube prevents image distortion, common in low cost night vision devices and standard gen 1 tubes. Field of view is improved across the whole imaging area with high resolution and geometric image precision provided by the CF-Super tube, which allows effective observation of an object located in any part of the unit’s field of view. The Sentinel also features a remote control with secure attachment, which allows the remote on/off switch to control the on/off function of the scope and the IR illuminator. It is small enough to attach to the stock on a rifle. The remote on/off switch is screwed onto the input jack, instead of simply inserted. This secure attachment provides assurance there are no surprises of the remote switch not activating your scope when ready to shoot.

Gen 1 Night Vision
1st generation is currently the most popular type of night vision in the world. Utilizing the basic principles described in detail in our guide, a 1st generation unit will amplify the existing light several thousand times letting you clearly see in the dark. These units provide a bright and sharp image at a low cost, which is perfect, whether you are boating, observing wildlife, or providing security for your home. You may notice the following when you are looking through a 1st Gen. unit. A slight high-pitched whine when the unit is on. The image you see may be slightly blurry around the edges. This is known as Geometric Distortion. When you turn a 1st Gen. unit off it may glow green for some time. These are inherent characteristics of a 1st Gen. unit and are normal.
