Its advanced military design and fiber-reinforced polycarbonate rubber armored housing makes the Steiner extremely rugged and lightweight. Steiner Nighthunter LRF can range targets to 1860 yards and has a scan mode to continue measuring while the target is on the move.

Steiner Nighthunter 8x30 is not a night vision binocular. This daytime binocular does not amplify light but allows improved light throughput due to high quality optics.
