This scope is absolutely the best I have ever owned
I purchased this scope to take care of some of the issues you have owning a farm with coyotes and other animals trying to get after livestock. I had previously purchased a night scope from Cabelas and was very disappointed in the range and clarity. My issue was I needed to be able to look and IDENTIFY from long ranges. So the scope arrived and I couldn't wait to try it out. The first night was a no moon type night and was very dark. I could still see and identify at over 200 yards raccoons and deer. I flipped on the torch that comes with the scope and MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The whole woods lit up and I was able to see another 100-150 yards. I have since used the scope on a moon lit night and I can see and IDENTIFY well over 350 yards (that's how far it is to the end of my pasture and woods outline). I would HIGHLY recommend this scope for any and all night time shooting or scoping activities. The price is the best on the market for the distance and clarity. I have a buddy that is in the military and he told me this scope was far better than the military issue he uses (that's saying a lot right there).

Question
what is the reason for stb mode what does it do
From mike on Nov 19, 2015
Answer
hi Mike. Thank you for your interest in Armasight Vulcan night vision scope. STB stands for Stand By. In this mode you can operate the scope by means of the remote switch for short intervals. This will extend the battery life of the unit and reduce use of the night vision tube. For example, if you own a monocular which you can use as a spotter, you would put the scope in STB mode and survey for your target using the monocular. Once you observe your target, you can quickly turn on the scope via the switch and take your shot.
