AGM Sioux850 Long-Range Infrared Illuminator comes included with Rechargeable Battery and Charger
NOTE: The unit is shown with an optional weaver mount. Regular IR-940 does not come with a mount. Mount needs to be purchased separately.
The IR-940 IR Illuminator the perfect device for those who wish to remain completely undetected by their subjects. The 940nM wavelength is almost completely invisible to the naked eye.Because the wavelength is so long there will be some loss of illumination range as compared to 805nM devices. The IR-940 features a fixed beam and simple push-button on-off controls located on top of the device. This versatile device can be hand-held or weapon or night vision device mounted. The IR-940 IR illuminator works best with Generation 3 night vision.IR illuminators mount easily on night vision or CCD devices or can be hand-held. Ideal aid for extreme low light conditions. Significantly extends capabilities of weapon sights, observation devices and photographic equipment.Because the performance of any night vision or low-light CCD device is dependent on ambient light, magnification, atmospheric transparency, and contrast between the target and its background, addition of the right IR Illuminator can significantly enhance visual acuity and extend detection ranges.Capabilities of IR Illuminators are a function of ambient conditions, power and wavelength. Effective range is a function of power and wavelength. Higher power and shorter wavelengths result in longer ranges.

a solid and well desined product BUT ....
I just received the item. It has a solid, well designed structure. I have not tested it in/on the field yet, this is my visual inspection report as a very handy and experienced person, hopefully I will upgrade this review later, if this system allows me to. 1- It came to me with a simple weapon mount grip, good. 2- Looks solid and water resistant enough to rely on it. 3- It has NO on/off indicator of any kind, just a push button (at back end) so you can not know if it is ON or OFF, very bad idea. I took it to the bathroom, turned off the lights, looked at the LED inside through it's magnifier to see the little red-ish low light. JUST BE QUICK AND CAREFUL WHEN CHECKING ITS ON/OFF CONDITION THIS WAY. 4- I suggest to remove the battery right after you are done using it, just in case. *- As I mentioned before, the item is reasonably well designed. I did a quick test with a Gen-1 monocular, I could see better with this illuminator at around 30 yards that I couldn't without illuminator. NOTE; everywhere was covered by snow during test, and snow amplifies up to 6 time all ranges of beams (like; UV, IR and visible light). *- Second issue which is not related to the item directly, was the outrage $66 shipping charge for half a pound package, that took around two weeks as USP/FED EX job. I had a purchased item from eBay, from same state with two pounds weight, same USP, cost me $22, took 7 days, If it was a night vision gadget requiring waiting time to be assembled and it was 2 pounds (checked carefully the rates) would be ok. loosing customers in this competitive world is easy, holding them, matters.

Question
Can this be added to a sightmark Photon RT Night Vision scope that has a built in 85nm IR? Will it work?
From jonathan love on Apr 19, 2018
Answer
Hi Jonathan. It will certainly work. Think of IR illuminators like flashlights for your naked eyes. If you have 2 flashlights the image will be brighter.
Question
I know that all things are relative but do you have a very general idea of the effective range of this light? I know it is dependent on a number of variables.

Answer
Hi Clayton. This light is effective out to about 200-250 yards.
