Armasight Zeus 640 2-16x50 30hz Thermal Imaging Rifle Scope
From FLIR about R Series Thermal Rifle Scopes:
Built by the leader in infrared technology, the FLIR ThermoSight® R-Series is the world’s first line of thermal night vision rifle scopes for non-game hunting starting under $3,500. Compact and easy-to-use, the ThermoSight® R-Series combines the features you want with the thermal performance you expect. The ThermoSight R-Series is the ideal night vision scope because it detects heat energy, instead of light. Conventional image intensified (I2) night vision scopes require illumination from moonlight or other sources, and can't reveal what's hiding in the shadows or in low-contrast environments like the R-Series.
The scope optimizes images automatically using FLIR’s own advanced image correction technology. And a simple four-button design and menu interface lets you adjust zoom in one click and all other settings in three clicks or less.
The ThermoSight R-Series is the ideal night vision, non-game hunting scope because it detects heat energy, instead of visible light. Day or night, the body heat of animals will stand out against cooler backgrounds when seen through the R-Series scope. Conventional image intensified (I2) night vision scopes can’t match the power of thermal because they require illumination from moonlight or other sources. They also can’t reveal what’s hiding in the shadows or in low-contrast environments in the same way thermal can. The R-Series offers up to six different detection palettes, including FLIR’s exclusive InstAlertTM, which displays the hottest temperatures in red so you can detect animals, people and other warm objects more easily.
The ThermoSight R-Series is built to perform under extreme conditions. An internal shock reduction system (SRS-M) is qualified for a MSR semi-automatic platform, up to .30 Cal. Plus, the R-Series’ water-resistant casing can be submerged in up to three feet of water.
The ThermoSight R-Series line offers a range of lenses to suit your varmint hunting needs. 13mm, 19mm, 35mm, 60mm.

Question
Can the RS24 be adapted as a clip on with a scope?
From Ray on Mar 24, 2014
Answer
FLIR RS24 and other RS series ThermoSight scopes are designed to function as standalone riflescopes. It may be possible to setup this scope in front of a day scope and somehow configure the day scope to focus of the lcd of the RS scope, but it is certainly not what these units were built and tested for. If you are in the market for a thermal clipon, you should consider these units: http://www.nightvisionguys.com/armasight-apollo-324-30-thermal-clip-on-sight http://www.nightvisionguys.com/thermal-rifle-scopes/atn-tico-336b-thermal-imaging-clip-on http://www.nightvisionguys.com/thermal-rifle-scopes/armasight-apollo-324-60-thermal-clip-on-sight http://www.nightvisionguys.com/atn-tico-336a-thermal-imaging-clip-on-60hz http://www.nightvisionguys.com/flir-thermosight-tm-t70-thermal-weapon-sight
Question
The FLIR ThermoSight RS24 1-2X Thermal Night Vision Rifle Scope 13mm 30HZ 431-0017-01-00 Model no: 431-0017-01-00 says it has 16X's zoom. This Thermal scope has a 16X's zoom on Thermal mode? New to Thermal scopes and I have been looking for one with a higher zoom but I have only found 1-4x.s zoom......until now I hope. Thank you for your time Mark
From Mark Blankenship on Feb 11, 2016
Answer
Hi Mark, you are correct that this particular scope has only minimal zoom. I think what you saw was the general highlights of the FLIR RS ThermoSight line. We do have scopes with very high magnification but those will have larger objective lens and higher resolution. We are happy to give you a call to offer some options if you respond with your contact info.
