From the market about IR HUNTER Mark II Thermal Riflescope
The IR HUNTER MARK II, much like its predecessor the IR HUNTER, is designed and built to be the perfect dedicated thermal weapon sight. At the same time, it can be used in various other applications, including as a clip-on sight, in a tactical system, and alone as a handheld imager.
Unlike the IR HUNTER, the MARK II, is powered by the new BAE Systems MicroIR thermal core, which uses the latest 12 micron sensors to provide a 50% increase in magnification in a compact, military grade package. The new sensors also draw less power, which helps extend battery life.
Resolution is a crisp 640×480, and the state-of-the-art processor passes a fully digital RGB signal with a smooth 60 Hz frame rate to the Emagin VGA 640×480 OLED display. This ensures a perfect pixel-for-pixel match with the sensor, providing a perfectly clear and sharp image with no upsizing or downsizing needed. Competing systems often cut costs by using analog displays.
The processing power of the IR HUNTER MARK II generates detailed reticles and symbols with MOA accuracy that are easy on the eyes, even after hours of viewing. Simply sight in and quickly make the ballistic corrections the shot demands! Adding to the ease of use and accuracy, the MARK II employs turret knobs instead of buttons. Using this thermal sight is as familiar as using your day sight!
The highly desired and patented LaRue LT681 QD Mount is standard. This mount is 100% made in the USA and proven in combat. Dual throw levers for even greater accuracy and reliability are available as an option. The system also works as a clip-on out of the box, with no accessory required for a selection of 1x,1–3x day optics (ask for approved optics list).
The IR HUNTER MARK II is American built by IR Defense Corporation to MIL-SPEC standards and is highly dependent on U.S. sourced parts and components. It has a three year warranty and comes in a complete kit (see below).
From IR Defense about IR HUNTER MARK II Thermal Riflescope:
Made entirely in USA, the IR HUNTER™ has been designed and manufactured by a team of industry professionals that has been building thermal sights across the industry for many years. But even more we are a group of Shooters that understands how and why you use a sight. That drive and commitment lead us to make the best possible weapon system and we did it in the US and we did it without compromising quality. That would typically be enough but we went a step further and brought the IR HUNTER™ to market at a low price without compromising quality.
IR HUNTER™is a collection of all the features and ergonomics you have wanted put together into a sleek system that is made to fit your weapon like any standard optic. One of our main features is the Turret Knob controls that you will find similar to your day optics. Buttons are nice but in the dark your natural instincts will appreciate the commonalty to your day sight. We have also incorporated an advanced lens and calibration system to reduce operator error and increase performance.
One of the key attributes of the IR HUNTER™ is our processing power which gives you a larger clearer image than any thermal scope on the market with super sharp detailed symbols and reticles. This combined with our MOA accurate turret knob adjustments allows you to simply sight in and do all your ballistic corrections as you normally would

Trijicon IR Hunter Mark II 640 60hz 35mm Thermal Riflescope 2.5-20X
640×480 Resolution
Higher resolution shows more detail, so we use a state-of-the-art 640×480 sensor and pass the fully digital RGB signal to a 640×480 OLED display, maintaining a crisp 1:1 pixel ratio.
E-Zoom
Digital electronic zooming lets you achieve various magnifications quickly and with the advanced built-in sighting system, the reticle will maintain boresight and even increase its MOA accuracy.
(ezoom inline image)
Intelligent Reticles
Digitally generated, MOA calibrated reticles work like first focal plane reticles. As you use the digital zoom, the image size increases along with the reticle, maintaining a 1:1 pixel ratio to the display for a sharp, clear image at all times. Optional multiple colors (GREEN, RED, and AUTO).
MaxPol Polarity Control
Easily switch between three levels of White Hot and three levels of Black Hot, giving you much better viewing control than typical single level systems.
ETR — Enhanced Target Recognition
Corrects a problem with thermal sights when viewing a scene with the sky or horizon in the background. The cold sky causes gain and contrast settings in the sensor to wash out the image. With ETR enabled, gain and contrast are limited to the image area within a yellow target box.
Color Modes
A wide range of 10 color palettes lets you display temperature differences in varying colors. This lets you pick a color palette that makes certain objects pop out at you.
Germanium Lens
The objective front lens assembly uses only the best materials available. The AR coated germanium lens is also DLC hard carbon coated, thermally stabilized (athermalized), and shock resistant. The entire assembly is engineered for high environmental durability and includes a replaceable, highly transmissive IR window in front of the lens for protection.
MOA Accuracy Turret Knobs
Your day sight has them, so the IR HUNTER MARK II uses turret knobs, too. When you’re out there in the dark and under pressure, you’ll know how to operate your thermal sight with just as much ease and familiarity as your day sight.
Image Capture & Video Download
Export what the sight sees to external computers and displays. (Video cable or video/download cable required.) For reliability and durability in harsh environments, Fisc her high end connectors are used, rather than the low cost alternatives used in other scopes.
Thermal Imaging
Please note that most thermal devices are built per order. It may take 3-5 days or more for your order to ship. If timely shipping is important to you, please, contact us to verify availability prior to ordering.
Thermal devices can produce various types of images. Some are color others are monochrome. In either case change in shade or color indicates temperature differences.
Here is how thermal imaging devices work...
A special lens focuses the infrared light emitted by all of the objects in view.
The focused light is scanned by a phased array of infrared-detector elements. The detector elements create a very detailed temperature pattern called a thermogram. It only takes about one-thirtieth of a second for the detector array to obtain the temperature information to make the thermogram. This information is obtained from several thousand points in the field of view of the detector array.
The thermogram created by the detector elements is translated into electric impulses.
The impulses are sent to a signal-processing unit, a circuit board with a dedicated chip that translates the information from the elements into data for the display.
The signal-processing unit sends the information to the display, where it appears as various colors depending on the intensity of the infrared emission. The combination of all the impulses from all of the elements creates the image.
There are a few key Manufacturers when it comes to thermal imaging.
ATN: produce such well knows devies as ThOR-HD thermal scope, BINOX-THD thermal binoculars, and OTS-HD thermal monocular.
FLIR/Armasight: the largest maker of consumer level thermal products is well knows for their full product line. Zeus thermal scopes, Q14 and Scout monoculars, Helios and Scout binoculars and many more.
Pulsar: a very popular brand for digital night vision and thermal imaging. Key products include Pulsar Trail and Apex thermal scopes and Pulsar Helion and Quantum thermal monoculars.
Seek: mobile device mounted thermal cameras are the main products of this brand.
Delivery Time and Manufacturing Process for Trijicon IR Hunter Mark II 640 60hz 35mm Thermal Riflescope 2.5-20X:
Most of our manufacturers do not keep products like Trijicon IR Hunter Mark II 640 60hz 35mm Thermal Riflescope 2.5-20X assembled on the shelf. Night Vision tubes are kept separate from the body of the unit. When the order is placed, the manufacturer starts the order processing and assembly process which includes the following:
- Order processing - we collect all the necessary information including address and phone numbers. We also make sure that our customer ordered the correct product for their needs and that the product can be exported by US law to the country of destination. In some cases a signed export compliance form is required.
- QC - in this step the manufacturer will inspect all individual parts which will be used to assemble the night vision device for any defects.
- Production & Assembly - during production, all the parts are put together. Night Vision tubes in inserted into the body of the unit and all the complex electronics for the device are connected. This process takes place in a special lab called the "clean room" as even a small speckle of dust can cause undesired optical effect.
- QA - one the night vision device is assembled, it goes through a rigorous testing process to make sure it meets all the expected specifications and all parts function as expected. For this most manufacturers have a special "dark room" designed to allow testing of the units without causing incidental damage to the night vision tube by exposure to bright light.
- Packaging - this is a key process as well. In most case your night vision device will be shipped to you directly from the manufacturer but sometimes needs to be sent to us first. In either case items need to be packaged securely to avoid any kind of damage during transportation.
- Shipping - as described above items will most of the time ship from the manufacturer. For most domestic orders (unless shipping to POB or AFB) a premium shipper like FedEx or UPS will be used.
Only by following the above steps can we along with our manufacturers bring you - our customer - night vision products of highest quality, However as you can understand the above process can take several days to complete. For example if your device fails QA, the entire process restarts. Also at QC stage a manufacturer may realize that the tube they have in stock has a defect and a replacement tube needs to be ordered. Due to the complexity of this process, it is prudent to expect 3-4 business days for production and handling of the purchased device. Keep in mind that this process is designed to guarantee your satisfaction with the night vision device of your choice. It occasionally possible to expedite the process for urgent orders but addional fees or other restrictions may apply.

Excellent Product!
I was a little reluctant to purchase a thermal scope due to price, but I'm glad i did once i received and used the unit. The quality of the image is hard to explain until you've seen it first hand. The IR mark ii is very user friendly to set up, sight-in and click through the options. Very well thought out and very crisp image. Steve B was very helpful and knowledgeable about the products he sells - listened to me and didn't pressure me a certain way. Very happy customer.

Question
Monthly payments but what if I put 4000$ down
From Jason Anzualda on Mar 12, 2018
Answer
Hi Jason. We have several options. We have our own layaway in which case you do not receive the unit until all payments are made. We also offer Affirm and PayPal credit both of which will charge you interest for the finance portion but you will receive the product right away. If you go with one of those later two options, we would take your $4K down-payment via CC or check and then give you a special code so you could complete your order online for the balance via one of the options offered. If you decide to proceed one of our sales agents will help you with the entire process which sounds more complicated than it actually is.
