Gen 1 Night Vision
1st generation is currently the most popular type of night vision in the world. Utilizing the basic principles described in detail in our guide, a 1st generation unit will amplify the existing light several thousand times letting you clearly see in the dark. These units provide a bright and sharp image at a low cost, which is perfect, whether you are boating, observing wildlife, or providing security for your home. You may notice the following when you are looking through a 1st Gen. unit. A slight high-pitched whine when the unit is on. The image you see may be slightly blurry around the edges. This is known as Geometric Distortion. When you turn a 1st Gen. unit off it may glow green for some time. These are inherent characteristics of a 1st Gen. unit and are normal.

First NV scope
I bought this for 50-60yd night hunting, against many people stating I needed Gen 3, Gen 1 sucks! Well big price difference. It's not a bad scope, small FOV, sometimes red crosshairs are doubled looking and sometimes the IR makes the FOV blurry unless looking over a field it's fine. You just can't get objects focused clear for detail. I can see a rabbit but there's no detail, not enough adjustment. Ok for the money.

Great product at a great price!
I purchased the scope for general varmit hunting use. I was well pleased with the quality of the scope's exterior and simple user controls. Tried it out on a night with plenty of stars in the sky and was surprised by how well I could visualize targets before I even turned the illuminator on. The illuminator worked great and was sufficient for the scope. I would highly recommend this item for the general hunter who has less than $500 dollars to put into a set-up. Thanks, Brian.

Question
Hello sir I want to buy this scope before buying this scope I want to no that the scope work in total darkness because I want to hunt rabbit & hogs can this will best for me. Thanks sir
From Qais on May 18, 2014
Answer
Hello, yes this scope works in total darkness. I would however recommend using the IR that comes with the unit in order to receive the best performance possible.
Question
I am looking for a nv scope for my .308. Does this scope come with the mount? Do you also have a scope that has infrared as well as nv?
From Jeff on Dec 27, 2014
Answer
Hi Jeff. There are not scopes that have both night vision and thermal. If you buy a thermal scope, you probably do not need night vision because a thermal scope can be sued both during the day and at night. This particular scope has a weaver mount built in and is a pure night vision scope with Gen 1 technology which is a good choice for close range hunting.
Question
How far does it go need 100-200 yd
From Peter doseck on Dec 27, 2014
Answer
Hi Peter. Thank you for your question. If you need that range on your night vision riflescope, you need to at least go with the Armasight Vampire scope which sells in $650 range. That is the best value for that distance requirement. If you can afford to get into the $1200 price range, we can suggest some other options. Please let us know.
Question
Do the crosshairs illuminate while the optic is turned off?
From Jon on Dec 29, 2014
Answer
Hi Jon. Generally no, however, as is the case with most Gen 1 devices, they continue to "glow" for a short period of time even after the unit is turned off.
Question
I am looking to hunt hogs and predators at night with ranges from 25yd-150yd and your product seems to fill that need. My concern is the recoil from my 30-06 or 308 and the scope hitting me or "ringing" my eye. What is your experience when dealing with this or is it a non issue?
From Randy Avery on Dec 29, 2014
Answer
Hi Randy. 150 yards is not realistic with this scope. I would suggest looking at Armasight Vampire 3x. Recoil will not be an issue for that scope. http://www.nightvisionguys.com/armasight-vampire-3x-core-iit-night-vision-rifle-scope
Question
I've previously had the atn mk series on my crossbow (mk350) since that could handle the forward shock and keep accurate. Would this scope fare the same or if not, could you point me in the right direction? Wouldn't mind having another mk350 but since atn has discontinued that series, is it worth picking one up again? I see you still have some mk350's for sale. Appreciate your time and Happy New year!
From scott on Jan 01, 2015
Answer
Hi Scott. Armasight WWZ night vision riflescope is actually more like the Mk390. It is certainly as good as MK350 was. However, the only question is if 4x is too much magnification for your crossbow. If it is, I would go with the Yukon YK26011. If not then go with this scope.
Question
Hello guys one question do you export overseas, like Mexico? Tanks
From Edgar Marzana on Jan 17, 2015
Answer
Hi Edgar. Different devices have different restrictions for export. Riflescopes cannot be exported to mexico, but there are other devices which we can offer which may be of interest. Please let us know what you are looking to do and we will respond with some recommendations.
Question
I am very interested in buying a night vision scope. My problem is deciding between the orion 5x scope or the wwz 4x scope .I have done alot of reseach on these two and was looking for some help in making my decision. Im looking to use it for raccoon and coyote hunting , somthing that is within 100yards Thanks alot Jeff Thornburg
From Jeffrey Thornburg on Jan 25, 2015
Answer
Hi Jeff. These are very similar scopes. It really depends on how much field of view you need. 5x give you a little less field of view but things are a little closer vs 4x gives you more of a field of view but things are a little smaller. 100 yards is on the far end of the range for a gen 1 scope so I guess 5x would be better but we cannot guarantee that you will be able to consistently shoot out to 100 yards. In really dark conditions that may be difficult.
Question
does the scope work day and night
From dustin on Jan 29, 2015
Answer
Hi Dustin. No, this is a regular night vision scope. It can only be used at night. for day and night use, please take a look at our digital night vision selection. ATN X-Sight 5X or Sighmark Photon are your options in this price range.
Question
Hi. Wondering how much field of view there is. Just not sure how to decipher the 12° any help would be great
From Steve on Feb 09, 2015
Answer
Hi Steve. If you draw a triangle with top vertices in the center of the objective lens of your scope and the bottom of the triangle opposing the scope being 100 yards away, the angle formed by the sides of the triangle will be 12 degrees. Which means the bottom of the triangle at 100 feet away is about 20 feet long. Does this make a bit more sense? Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Question
I'm buying a ar15 to shoot some coyotes. I live on a farm wanting to shoot up to 200 yards and I was wondering if the scope goes to clear so I could use it in the day time also I'm new to the night vision scopes plz get back to me as soon as possible by email preferably
From Keith on May 26, 2015
Answer
Hi Keith. Armasight WWZ 4x is not the right scope for your needs. If you need to shoot out to 200 yards at nigh you should consider Armasight Vampire 3X as your minimum or maybe even go for a Gen 2 device. In terms of ability to use the night vision scope during the day as well, none of the above scopes are able to do so. You need to explore either using Sightmark Photon scopes or maybe getting a Gen 2 night vision clipon such as CO-MR-SD. These clip-on devices attach to your day scope to turn them into a night vision scope and can be quickly remove for use during the day. No need to rezero your setup since your day scope is the one with the reticle and it stays in place.
Question
I have this scope but never mounted it . If i add a green laser along with the ir light will i be able to shoot a 100-120 yds ?
From Jim on Dec 11, 2016
Answer
Hi Jim. Not every laser is safe for night vision. 100 yards is maybe doable with this scope if you have really powerful Ir illuminators. 120 is probably pushing it. You can probably test it out without mounting it to see how far you can detect the target.
Question
How long of a rail in inches or how many rail sections does this mount require?
From Ben Vance on Dec 19, 2017
Answer
hi Ben. The rail is about 6'' long. It can be mounted on two split rails or a single solid rail.
Question
Would you have to sight this in at nite or can you do it during the day?
From Jonathan on Jan 07, 2018
Answer
Hi Jonathan. Armasight WWZ is an analog night vision scope. Such devices are very sensitive to bright light exposure. To sight in a night vision scope, you would use the sacrificial window in the front cap. It is a small hole which lets in enough light to sight your scope but not enough to damage it. With the cover on you would use the scope during late afternoon when the sun is setting so there is no direct bright light and sight the scope with the front cover closed. There will be further instructions in the user manual.
Question
Putting a better IR illuminator will you see farther just bought it seems to work really good but like this a little farther thank you
From Scott on Aug 31, 2018
Answer
hi Scott. Yes, an additional IR would make it a little better.
Question
I have this nv if I put a ir850 what's my max range I'll be able to see I'm getting about 75 yards thank you
From Scott on Sep 03, 2018
Answer
hi Scott. This is a Gen 1 unit. You will most likely max out around 100 yards.
