Armasight Vampire 3X Night Vision Riflescope
Firefield NVRS Tactical 2.5x50 with Internal Focusing
Made from a state of the art titanium body, the Firefield 2.5x50 NVRS Tactical Night Vision Rifle Scope is rugged, durable and lightweight. Powerful 2.5x magnification combined with the incredible light gathering capabilities of the f/1.4 objective lens puts this scope in a class that's perfect for hunters, law enforcement or military applications. This is the tactical version of this scope, providing a Weaver rail for customizing your scope to suit your needs. The luminous red reticle is adjustable via standard internal click-stops. Reticle brightness can be adjusted or completely turned off, a useful feature for when the eyepiece has been converted to the optional camera adapter. The included remote activation switch can be situated anywhere, depending on the task at hand. The built in IR illuminator, which features exclusive Pulse technology, extends the low or no light viewing capabilities of the scope. The Pulse IR system provides higher levels of IR illumination without significant battery drainage. There are many different variables that affect the distance that one can see with a night vision device, among them the object's size, the level of details being sought from the object and the conditions of observation. Night vision devices detect much further under a full moon and clear skies than they will under a new moon and cloudy skies. Many different formulas are used to determine the statistic of maximum viewing range and this varies by manufacturer, so ultimately the generation of the intensifier tube is much more relevant than any quoted statistic when determining the maximum viewing range. Despite protection devices, bright light in any form is never good for the longevity and performance of night vision image intensifier tubes.

Gen 1 Night Vision
1st generation is currently the most popular type of night vision in the world. Utilizing the basic principles described in detail in our guide, a 1st generation unit will amplify the existing light several thousand times letting you clearly see in the dark. These units provide a bright and sharp image at a low cost, which is perfect, whether you are boating, observing wildlife, or providing security for your home. You may notice the following when you are looking through a 1st Gen. unit. A slight high-pitched whine when the unit is on. The image you see may be slightly blurry around the edges. This is known as Geometric Distortion. When you turn a 1st Gen. unit off it may glow green for some time. These are inherent characteristics of a 1st Gen. unit and are normal.

Very Pleased With This Product
This was my first night vision product and I have been very pleased with my purchase. My budget didn't allow for a gen 2, 3 or 4 scope. I feel as though I got an excellent product for the money. The quality of mfg is very high. I love how simple the controls are & how accessible they are. The directions are clear and easily understandable. I also love that it takes AA batteries. I am very impressed with what I am able to see thru this unit once the sun goes down. I can pick out small animals moving about, out well over 40-50 yards. Medium to large animals at 100 yds. + I'm now interested in adding a doubler to see what that could do for it. The IR light seems good to 75 yards or so. I will probably also add an extra IR light to get me out over 100 yards. Overall, I'm very pleased with this unit and feel I got my money's worth. On that note, I checked all over the internet and Night Vision Guys have the best price around. Good job guys! Thank you, OO

Best Dedicated Gen1 Scope Available
It's a typical Gen1 tube so don't think you are going to see Gen3 detail, but the difference is that it has a focus ring (would be useless without) and the cross-hairs are dimmable to nothing for spotting scope use. On a full moon you can see yotes out to 200 yards moving, 100 yards for a shot and the IR will illuminate out to 50 in 1/4 moon. IR is a tight cone and very useable but does have a visible red light. If you need a dedicated NV scope on the cheap, this is the best choice on the market.
